What are you doing with this summer? Visit thepines.org.
The Pines is no ordinary summer camp. While the Pines offers a traditional overnight summer camp experience: fun camp games and songs, plenty of activities, and opportunities to meet lifelong friends, where they differ from other camps is in their genuine Catholic identity. Offering the opportunity to grow in faith, all through the beauty of the Sacraments.
Carpooling from St. Mary's may be available for Week Two for younger girls (2nd-7th grade) and Week 5 (Teen Week) for 8th-12th graders. But we encourage you to sign up for any week that works for your family. Spots are filling fast, don't delay!
This semester the 10-12th graders will be covering The Theology of the Body using Ascension Presents incredible video series YOU.
The truth is that 80% of Catholics are no longer Catholic by the time they turn 23. We are committed to building a dynamic Catholic community that will assist our kids in this world that is diametrically opposed to Christ and His Church. The Catechism says that parents are FIRST educators in the Faith. We want to partner with each family in passing on the treasure of our Catholic Faith in a compelling way.
This year we will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm. Once a month we will meet as a large group, each teen bringing their own Bible, snacks, water and chairs, etc. The other three weeks we split up into Fraternus (guys) and Fidelis (girls) groups by age/grade. Each group will have two adult mentors assigned to journey with that group throughout the year. The small groups will be a place for community and formation using the Bible and the Catechism, lives of the saints and media to catechize and disciple our teens.
