"Filia" is Latin for Daughter. Our primary identity is that of a daughter. A Catholic woman claims her identity in God, as His beloved daughter, sister, mother and bride. The daughter of God is known, seen, and loved; therefore, she can securely and fully live in the inheritance of the Father. We are the adopted daughters of God, children of a good Father, beloved and chosen. This is the core of our being which propels us to the fullness of life that we are called to.
We are living in a time where identity has been distorted and lies are being spoken into our womanhood. At Filia our desire is for every girl to hear the good news of the Gospel, that they would know and claim the truth of who God is and who they are, to encounter Jesus in His word, in the Sacraments and in one another, to experience true sisterhood, and to grow in understanding and reverence for Christ and His church.
