When we walk within the Darkness, Seek His Light and You will Find His Love
St Mary’s Catholic & Crafty is a group that gets together to share fellowship and talents. We create uniquely Catholic items that are intended to serve as tangible signs of God’s love and compassion. These symbols of God’s love are often best, and most uniquely expressed, through His people, as they work together to strengthen and encourage each other. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, yet it was kind of you to share in my distress” Phil 4:13
all will be encouraged to pray the rosary faithfully, listening carefully for the whisperings of the Holy Spirit in the Holy Silence found in deep, contemplative prayer. St Mary’s Catholic & Crafty is dedicated to
Providing a prayerful ministry that combines ritual, care and compassion with the love of crafting items
Providing a fellowship of people working together to make God visible to the world, enabling us to care for others in a straight-from-the-heart approach. The items produced are made with prayers as they are crafted; in fact, the knitted shawls currently under construction are true “prayer” shawls as the pattern utilizes parts of the rosary as the mnemonics making the pattern easy to remember, and therefore making this a very portable project.
Donate materials such as fabric, beads, lace, time, talents, financial, and most importantly, pray for our group, for our recipients and for each other as we seek to manage our lives faithfully and to His
glory.
We have an evening meeting the fourth Tuesday of each month. Meetings include time for fellowship, explanation of strategies and techniques, and exchange ideas and materials.

The legend was inspired by a meditation of Saint Irenaeus (Bishop of Lyon and martyred in 202) based on the parallel made by Saint Paul between Adam and Christ. Saint Irenaeus made a similar comparison between Eve and Mary observing that: “Eve, by her disobedience, tied the knot of disgrace for the human race; whereas Mary, by her obedience, undid it.
These prayer shawls are made with love and prayers for each of you. We encourage you to pray the rosary faithfully seeking God’s guidance. We hope that it will remind you that you are never alone and that you will feel wrapped in love and mercy. It was blessed by Father after the First Friday mass and it is gifted through St Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Taylor Texas.
