St. Anne's was organized in 1922 so this year is our 100th anniversary. St. Anne's was initially organized to provide the needs and upkeep of the altars, plus purchasing items needed for Mass including altar wine, communion hosts which were made and baked by members (which we still do today), candles, linens and flowers. Since then, our duties have increased to include washing & ironing altar purificators, linens, and priest and altar server albs; attending the plants and flowers we purchase and cleaning the altars; cleaning altar vessels and holy water fonts and other periodic dusting/cleaning of altars, statues, Stations of the Cross, window sills, door frames, etc. We also assist at funeral receptions, if requested by the deceased family, by providing desserts and/or sandwiches. We purchase the merchandise for the religious articles booth, display, and then sell after weekend masses. We meet the first Monday of the month, September thru May.
You can become a member by paying annual dues of $5 as dues are the primary source of income for our organization. You can
choose to be inactive or active. To join, please download and complete the form below. If you choose to be active, you may join a committee which is assigned to a specific area and serve on a rotating basis. Please indicate the areas you would like to serve and we will contact you.
Your dues and membership form can be put in the weekend collection basket at church in an envelope marked "St. Anne's Altar Society" or you may mail it or bring it to the parish office 408 Washburn St., Taylor, Tx 76574. Donations are also welcome.
The religious articles booth is open after weekend Masses. Proceeds from the sales support the efforts of the Altar Society. Stop by after Mass this weekend to purchase a Catholic gift or sacramental for your home!
Please put your Sirloin Stockade receipts in an envelope labeled “Sirloin Receipts'' and drop in the collection basket. This is a fundraiser for St. Anne’s Altar Society. We are reimbursed a percentage of each receipt.
