“Jesus has made Himself the Bread of Life to give us life. Night and day, He is there. If you really want to grow in love, come back to the Eucharist, come back to that Adoration.” – Saint Teresa of Calcutta
What is Adoration?
Eucharistic Adoration is the worship and adoring of our Lord Jesus Christ, present in the Holy Eucharist. Adoration presents an opportunity to choose the “better part” as Mary of Bethany did, and to sit at Jesus’ feet. Pour out your hearts, bring your joys and sorrow or just come to be present with the one who desires your heart! Adoration is the first act of the virtue of religion. To adore God is to acknowledge him as God, as the Creator and Savior, the Lord and Master of everything that exists, as infinite and merciful Love.
To adore God is to acknowledge, in respect and absolute submission, the "nothingness of the creature" who would not exist but for God. To adore God is to praise and exalt him and to humble oneself, as Mary did in the Magnificat, confessing with gratitude that he has done great things and holy is his name. The worship of the one God sets man free from turning in on himself, from the slavery of sin and the idolatry of the world. - CCC 2096-97
Our Lord desires for all of us to spend time with him, to cultivate relationship, grow in holiness, but most importantly to experience unending love. This unending love awaits you in Adoration.
